Egg in bread roll
An easy, delicious and budget friendly recipe. Your kids and your wallet will love it!
Ingredients (for 4 people)
- 4 Columbus eggs
- 2 slices of smoked ham
- 4 bread rolls
- 8 teaspoons fresh cream
- Nutmeg
- salt and pepper from the mill
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Cut the top of the bread rolls so that you can fill them with the eggs.
- Put a teaspoon of cream in the bottom of each bread.
- Cut the ham into strips and place them in the bread rolls.
- Break the Columbus eggs one by one into each bread.
- Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.
- Pour a second teaspoon of cream over each egg.
- Cover an oven tray with a baking sheet and place the breads on it.
- Bake for about 10 minutes.

You can replace the ham with smoked salmon. Choose sustainably caught salmon with an MSC label.
Serve the egg in bread with a salad for a green touch and more fibre.
