To control my cholesterol

COLUMBUS EGG IS GOOD FOR LOWERING CHOLESTEROL

There are two kinds of cholesterol: good and bad. Bad cholesterol (LDL) is carried by the blood to the various cells in the body. If there is too much of it, it can build up on the walls of the arteries and cause a slow blockage of the blood vessels. The good cholesterol (HDL) is there to carry away the excess bad cholesterol to the liver, which will eliminate it. This is why we often talk about the importance of the ratio between good and bad cholesterol.
By deciding to live a healthier life, to exercise more, to eat healthier and more balanced food, you can effectively act on your cholesterol. You can manage your cholesterol levels by adapting your lifestyle, without medication. In the case of real hypercholesterolemia, changing your eating habits will probably not be enough. In this case, you should not hesitate to consult your general practitioner or a cardiologist.
As part of a healthy and balanced diet, you should avoid saturated fatty acids, eat more fruit and vegetables, consume margarines enriched with plant sterols and eat Columbus eggs.

.

Why?
Because Columbus eggs contain 25% less saturated fatty acids than other eggs. But above all because the high Omega-3 content of Columbus eggs (15 times higher than in ‘conventional’ eggs) means that they have a positive effect on blood cholesterol levels.
In addition, Columbus eggs contain many more essential nutrients, including vitamins (E and B12) and minerals (iron, selenium).

Main benefits of our eggs against cholesterol

Omega-3 fatty acids help protect against heart disease and are necessary for the body to function properly. However, our bodies do not produce them. It is therefore essential to obtain them through the diet.
There are two types of omega-3, omega-3 of plant origin (ALA) and omega-3 of animal origin (EPA and DHA).
Plant-based omega-3s (ALA) are found in flax or rapeseed oil, as well as in nuts and green vegetables. Consumption of 2g per day helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. With almost 700mg per egg, Columbus eggs have 100 times more ALA than conventional eggs, which means they have a scientifically proven positive effect on cholesterol.

Omega-3s of animal origin, called EPA and DHA, are most often found in oily fish. These omega-3s, which we lack, are known to have health benefits, especially for heart and brain health. Columbus eggs have five times more EPA and DHA than conventional eggs. This represents 50% of the recommended daily allowance!

A scientific study shows that regular consumption of Columbus eggs compared to regular consumption of “classic” eggs leads to an increase in the concentration of HDL-C cholesterol, the good cholesterol, by 8%;
