DIY: Homemade Christmas decoration
Make a pretty Christmas angel
A homemade decoration to decorate the tree. Nothing like it! All you need is a few materials and a little skill. Make as many angels as you like and hang them up straight away.
Materials needed for 1 angel:
– 1 white or silver pipe cleaner
– 1 egg box
– some white feathers
– 2 coloured beads
– 1 white or coloured button
– 1 pretty white ribbon
– 1 wooden bead with a hole
– 1 piece of wool
You will also need fine markers and a knife, pencil or something to use to poke a hole in the egg box.
How to do it:
- Start by drawing a face and hair on the wooden bead.
- Fold the pipe cleaner in half and thread it through the wooden bead, with the folded end facing the top of the face to make the angel’s halo.
- Then thread both ends of the pipe cleaner through the button.
- Tie a piece of ribbon around the pipe cleaner under the button.
- Cut a hole in the egg carton and punch 2 holes through which you will pass the 2 pipe cleaner branches.
- Punch a few holes in the back to insert and glue the feathers that represent the angel’s wings.
- Thread a bead on each end of the pipe cleaner and bend to make the feet. Cut the pipe cleaners to an appropriate length.
- Finish by tying a piece of wool between the head and the angel’s halo so that you can hang it on the tree.
