Materials required
- 1 cardboard box of 6 eggs
- Paint in various colours
- 12 to 18 beads
- Cord, a white paper, black marker, glue stick
- Scissors, brush, knitting needle
How to make:
- Cut out the egg carton and remove the 6 cells and 1 of the tips from the middle of the carton.
- Paint the cells in different colours. We chose the colours of the rainbow for our fish. Make sure you let them dry well. This can take several hours!
- Pass a cord through the hole in the tip (tail of the fish). Thread a bead and make a big knot.
- With the tip of the scissors and/or a knitting needle, make a hole in the first cell and thread it through. To prevent the pieces (cells) from touching each other, place beads (2 to 3) between each piece of cardboard.
- Make a hole in another piece of cardboard and continue stringing beads and cardboard.
- When you reach the last piece, add one more bead. Make a loop and cut the thread.
- Draw eyes on a piece of white paper and cut them out.
- Glue the eyes onto the fish’s head and that’s it!
